U-Power Acquires KÜBLER in Major European PPE Move
U-Power is expanding its position in the European personal protective equipment market with the acquisition of German workwear manufacturer KÜBLER. The Italian PPE group has signed binding agreements to acquire 100% of Paul H. Kübler Bekleidungswerk GmbH & Co. KG, bringing two established European safety companies together. The deal represents another step in U-Power’s strategy to build a broader pan-European PPE platform.
From safety footwear to head-to-toe protection
U-Power is best known for its safety footwear, while KÜBLER brings established expertise in protective workwear. Combining the two businesses gives U-Power an opportunity to offer a more comprehensive range of workplace protection — moving beyond footwear towards a broader “head-to-toe” PPE proposition. For customers, this could mean a stronger single-source offering across different categories of workplace protection.
A changing European PPE market
The acquisition also highlights a wider trend in the PPE industry. Manufacturers and distributors are increasingly looking for ways to expand their product portfolios, strengthen distribution networks and build larger platforms capable of serving customers across multiple European markets. For PPE manufacturers, scale can provide advantages in product development, distribution and market access. For buyers, larger portfolios may simplify procurement — but they also increase the importance of product quality, compatibility and specialist expertise.
Why it matters
The U-Power–KÜBLER deal is more than a footwear company buying a workwear manufacturer. It reflects the continuing consolidation of the European PPE market and the growing importance of offering complete protection solutions. As PPE manufacturers expand across categories, the competitive landscape in Europe could look very different in the coming years. PPE Report will continue to follow the companies, products and technologies shaping the global PPE industry.
